Who We Are
We are a COMMUNITY of families who, guided by the Holy Spirit, have chosen to home educate our children. Besides trusting in the Bible and the Holy Spirit, we rely primarily on the insights, principles and educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason to help us steer our children toward knowing, loving and serving the truth which is found only in the Bible and the person of
Our Goal
Our goal is to see Symposium grow into a COMMUNITY of families where children can engage their whole selves - mind, body and spirit, and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ by growing in knowledge of Him, His Creation and Ourselves.
Know the Truth
Love the Truth
Serve the Truth
History
The Spark of Symposium was kindled at a splash pad in 2012 when two almost -strangers
answered the question “What are you going to do for school next year?” The answer was, of
course, homeschool, and a friendship was born. Over the years, the Lord added to our
community of two, and Symposium began meeting in 2016 with 9 families at a local church to
share the work and joy of educating our children. We now consist of 65 children representing 15
families from infants to high schoolers. While we will continue to pursue excellence in educating our
children through the Charlotte Mason method, it is our intimate community that also offers such a
welcome learning environment.
